Her life took a tragic turn on November 8, 2020, when her only child, Fred Cox, was murdered by a detective while attending a funeral in High Point, NC. At 18 years old, Fred was a recent high school graduate with aspirations of owning his own clothing line.
Driven by this personal tragedy, Tenicka has found her calling in standing in solidarity with families who have lost loved ones and survivors of police brutality. She believes her voice serves as an amplifier for the voiceless and a beacon of hope for the hopeless.
