Inspired by his father's tireless efforts in the civil rights movement, which included leading the fight for fair housing in Evanston during the 1960s and 70s, Jacob Sr. carries on the torch of advocacy with unwavering determination.

In the footsteps of his father, who organized marches in the wake of the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Jacob Sr. continues to champion the cause of equality and justice. His commitment to this cause became deeply personal when his own son, Jacob Blake Jr., fell victim to police violence, enduring seven reckless shots to his back in the presence of his young children. Left paralyzed from the waist down, Jacob Jr. faces a lifetime of physical rehabilitation.
