The Families United works directly with the Justice Reform
Group to not only unite families across the entire country who are victims of police
brutality but also hold town hall meetings within communities to educate and galvanize
the people. It is the goal of The Organization and Justice Reform to bring solace, comfort,
resources and attention to every family after the loss of their loved but also to become
intimately involved with the community in a concerted effort to begin grassroots change
in rapid and radical police reform across the country.
Families united by tragedy, who have lost loved ones to police brutality, come together in a powerful fight for justice. Their shared experiences fuel a movement demanding accountability, reform, and an end to systemic violence. In solidarity, they amplify their voices, seeking to ensure that no more lives are lost in the pursuit of justice and equality.
United in Purpose, Igniting Change: Together, we stand against injustice, challenge the doctrine of qualified immunity, and demand an end to police brutality. As voices unite in solidarity, we strive to dismantle legal barriers that shield misconduct and ensure accountability for all. This fight is a testament to our collective commitment to justice, equality, and the protection of human rights.
The Breonna Taylor Act emerged from the passionate demand for justice following the tragic killing of Breonna Taylor. This legislation stands as a pivotal step towards reform, advocating for the end of No Knock warrants. It symbolizes a collective call for accountability, equality, and the protection of basic human rights within law enforcement practices.
The pursuit of justice for Jacob Blake stems from the harrowing reality of his unarmed and non-violent encounter with law enforcement, culminating in seven shots fired into his back. Blake's sole intention was to intervene in a dispute, yet he faced excessive force without provocation. His case epitomizes the urgent need for police accountability and reform.
Tragically, on November 8, 2020, Fred Cox, Jr. was fatally shot multiple times in the back while attending a funeral, bravely attempting to shield others during a drive-by shooting. Initially, the family believed the drive-by shooters were responsible for his untimely passing. However, it later came to light that an undercover officer, operating beyond his jurisdiction, was accountable for this devastating loss.
